Tom Hiddleston to portray Hank Williams in "I Saw The Light" - Blu-ray Forum

Production will begin in Louisiana in October, and Hiddleston will sing such Williams standards as “Your Cheatin’ Heart”, “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and “Hey Good Lookin’,” after the film’s backers made a deal with Sony ATV to secure rights to the Williams music catalog. The film will tell the story of Williams’ meteoric rise to fame, and the price that fame took on his personal life. He died at age 29 of heart failure.

Had the chance to watch "Your Cheatin' Heart" over the weekend and all I can say is at least the music is better than on that film. They may have had Hank Jr singing but they gave the songs that Nashville sound treatment which really didn't work(not to mention the story problems...). Hiddleston doesn't sound quite right but it is a lot closer to what Hank really sounded like. Looking forward to this.

Man, the resemblance is uncanny!! I'm a big fan of Hank Williams Sr. so I'm definitely on board for this. Hiddleston's singing sounds kinda off in that video, but hopefully hes fine-tuned it since then. I really hope this gets "Walk The Line" type of buzz level.

I'll wait until I see a trailer, but I was left pretty unimpressed by that clip. Following on from recent biopics that have really delved into the recording process and made that a really interesting aspect of the films, that scene felt entirely flat. As if the entire point of releasing that clip was that Tom Hiddleston can really nail Hank Williams, I wasn't worried about that, I want to know how you're going to make a good film around that.

I just watched this. I read a review that wasn't too kind to Hiddleston or the movie, but the trailer looked fantastic. I can't wait to see this.
