This news came as a nasty shock to casual fans of F1 including myself on Wednesday.
The new rights deal for F1 will begin with Sky in the UK & Ireland from 2019 to 2024. The figure for the deal believed to be worth £300 million will air all 21 races live on the Pay TV service apart from the British Grand Prix & highlights which will be shown on a Free to Air Sky Channel. All races will be shown live in UHD & HD when shown on the new SkyQ TV service. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/201...ll-formula-one I for one won't be getting Sky TV to watch F1 for the following reason 1) it's too expensive to have a Sky Contract on you & 2) On the principle that Murdoch is too greedy for his own good. |
