Harrison Ford in Talks to Star in 'Call of the Wild'

Chris Sanders, the co-director of 'The Croods' and 'How to Train Your Dragon,' will make his live-action debut.

Harrison Ford is in negotiations to star in Call of the Wild, Twentieth Century Fox’s adaptation of the classic Jack London novel, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Chris Sanders, the co-director of The Croods and How to Train Your Dragon, is making his live-action debut with the ambitious adaptation, which will incorporate major CG elements as it tells the story of sled dogs, wolves, and humans in the Far North during the Gold Rush.

The movie will shoot later this year as Fox has set a Dec. 25, 2019 release date.

London’s story told of a sled dog that tries to survive the Alaskan wilderness as well as a series of abusive owners. Ford will pay Jack Thornton, the man who will become the dog’s final owner before the canine finally answers the call

Ford’s next film project was due to have been a new Indiana Jones movie but that project was pushed from 2020 to 2021 due to script issues, leaving the actor with an opening.
