I remember reading there would be NO director's or alternate cut

The extended cut has 13 minutes of extra footage.

Argh! So many versions. Definitely getting the Digibook, 3D and UHD though.

I want to see more of that hard cover comic book edition...I know I'll probably won't be able to hold off from that one either...

WB are killing it with their big budget releases...so many great editions.

So I wonder if we will get the same situation we had with Roadshow and the 3D Batman V Superman edition whereby the special features were only on the Theatrical Version 2D disc but they didn't include that in the 3D set. The local Suicide Squad 3D set says Theatrical version in 3D, extended version on the 2D second disc. The U.S 3D version gets three discs of course.

Perhaps the relatively good feedback about BvS extended edition has spurred Warners into a "market" for extended editions?.

I hope they add more Joker and tweak the ending.

Most of the film was great fun but the ending was boring.

I think I will go for SB and possibly 4K as well.

13 more minutes of that dancing witch....

Nope.... I wont be getting this - once seen is enough for me... it was a big non-event, where some characters aren't even really introduced before they are got rid of.

I never got around to seeing it at the cinema, but I think the home experience would be better anyway. I think i'd like it a lot, so totally a 4K blind buy.

The swirling pile of garbage in this film is a pretty good metaphor for Suicide Squad. It was total nonsensical toilet, even worse than BvS, and that's saying something.

I've gotten to the point I kind of dread seeing Marvel and DC comic films now, after BvS and CvI (I mean Captain America Civil War). I am interested in Suicide Squad, but I'll be waiting for this to be bargain priced.

What a load of guff though, we have this run now of "good guy vs good guy" and "bad guy vs bad guy" comic films. I think Ant Man was the last one I've really enjoyed. I've gotten to the point where they are just a chore.

maybe Dr Strange could be a breathe of fresh air....

compared to the sewer of Squad.

Wait til there's a B2G1F sale - and get Squad for an extra 'free' (cant get rid of them special)

pity there are no blu to buy here in Singapore.....

Yeah, maybe Dr Strange. I love the director. Scott Derrickson is a brilliant horror movie director. His movies have unnerved me so much, and I'm pretty jaded after a lifetime of watching horror. I don't get the hate on his last film, the one with our own Eric Bana. But often when a great small scale director gets handed a studio controlled blockbuster, the results are often out of their hand. Look at the last Godzilla. Still an enjoyable film, but I'd find it hard to think the director was at fault for all the shortcomings.

I'm so sick of these kitchen sink movies where they have every character in it and swamp it. So sick of the hype too. Reading all that crud on Jared Leto and his bs method acting and stupid presents to cast members, I'm glad he was more or less cut from the film. Following Heath Ledger's portrayal with that kind of hacky job is going to be hard to swallow. I don't understand the hype on Leto. I've seen him in a lot of movies, but I've never found his acting even vaguely memorable. When I first heard about him doing Joker, and the excitement, I had to go look him up on IMDb, and saw I'd seen him in so much but couldn't remember any offhand.

Ah, that's nuthin!

My favourite quote in the AUS/NZ thread regarding BvS was that BvS is a "masterpiece". Yep, an actual masterpiece. The same level of elite cinematic brilliance as say Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Vertigo, Metropolis, The Godfather, Rear Window, Bicycle Thieves...

I'll believe BvS is a "masterpiece" when someone can confirm that Troll 2 screens on endless repeat in Heaven.

I like the mentioned classics as well. No debate there. However it still doesn't stop members like myself enjoying trash cinema. I enjoyed BvS and Suicide Squad. We all can't like the exact same films. It would be boring.
Good on the member that said it was a "masterpiece". Glad they enjoyed it.

I'm all for variety Badas, and as strange as it sounds, I actually really enjoyed Suicide Squad a lot more than I thought I would. And from comments around the place, a lot more than avid Marvel/ DC fans on here. Go figure!

The missus threw BvS on the other day, and I half watched the opening and also caught the bit where Supes punched the living shit outta Ben Affleck, which even I have to admit was pretty bloody satisfying cinema!

I probably wouldn't call BvS a 'masterpiece' based on the Affleck punch scene alone, but I would do that one scene on endless loop in Heaven...

I think I used those words, I loved the film at the cinemas but the EE really brought it home. mind you the films that you label masterprieces were far from my mind, I tend to keep things in relative context. I have 3 of those titles and especially cheerish my Eureka Steelbook of Metropolis. that is an historical item an archive of history.

I think Interstellar is a Masterclass I think 2001 a space odyssey is a Masterpiece as well.

I will always maintain Man of Steel and BvS are 10 year too late, had these been released a decade earlier, they would be the tent poles of action cinema.
