Default what is the best single player campaign FPS?

On the PS4? I know there are plenty of options for great multiplayer first person shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty etc. but as a new PS4 owner what are the must have or at least highly recommended single player FPS games? I really wanted to play Battlefield Hardline but that seems to have a bit of a mixed reception. I just want something fun that shows off the PS4's graphics nicely and has a satisfying single player campaign. At the moment i only own Uncharted Collection, Last of Us Remastered and The Order 1886 so i'm definitely looking to pick up a solid FPS. If it has good multiplayer too, then that's an added bonus.

For example i have played any of the recent COD games, COD Ghost seems to be going quite cheap now.

Well here is a single player FPS game I would strongly advise you get,

Wolfenstein: The New Order

No multiplayer.

That is great advice but unfortunately i already played through it on the Xbox 360. I agree though it is a superb game. How about that other Wolfenstein game they put out more recently? I haven't played that one.

It's around a 4 hour game if your hardcore, 6 hour game if your average, 8-10 hour game if your casual.

I guess i'm pretty casual in that case! I've just checked and it's called The New Blood, i really enjoyed the previous game so i might have to give that one a go.

I wasn't impressed with the campaign in Killzone Shadowfall, and much more enjoyed Far Cry 4 or Wolfenstein The Old Blood. If you want fast action, then i reccomend Advanced Warfare, one of the best CoD campaigns since Black Ops 1, nicely cinematic.

I agree with everyone's recommendations of the Wolfenstein games.

Metro Redux is also great, but it's not your typical FPS, it's more of a first-person survival game.

I'm probably one of the few that liked it, but I enjoyed the Battlefield: Hardline campaign. Although with the "arrest" mechanic it's more of a stealth game than an all-out action shooter, but you can play it either way.

And I think all three of the CoD campaigns are worth playing, but I think BlOps 3 is my favorite. Plus you also get a bonius "zombies" campaign that is cool too.

Killzone: Shadow Fall has some brilliant parts but some of its campaign is seriously flawed.

Like everyone said the the Wolfenstein games also I would say give Tomb Raider a shot, great graphics with a decent story.

You can grab the definitive edition for 15.00 off Amazon.

I would recommend Far Cry 4, I sunk a ton of hours into that game and enjoy every minute of it.

Fallout 4 can be played like a FPS but it's an adventure game RPG, with the option for 3rd person.
Levcore, are you planning on trying out Mad Max PS4? Knowing you're a big fan of the films.

Ah i enjoyed the first Metro 2033 game on the Xbox 360 and definitely want to check out the second, so i may get Metro Redux, it's very reasonably priced. I'll definitely dip into a COD campaign as well as it's been absolutely ages since i played a COD game.

Thanks, i've picked up Wolfenstein The Old Blood as i'd already played The New Order on 360. I've also played that Tomb Raider game you mention, which was excellent. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Far Cry 4 i played on 360, i found it a bit hard truth be told, mainly the stealthy missions.

I'll definitely get Fallout 4 soon, i loved Fallout 3, i'm just trying to pace myself for something so massive. I am getting Mad Max for Christmas, i cannot wait to play that one!

The two Wolfensteins though if you have a a pc they play so much better there (they feel more like classic id shooters which makes the mouse transform the game) and Far Cry 4.
