Just noticed this on Amazon ....anyone heard about this? Anything different than previous releases? Transfer? extras etc?

There is a new disk of extras, check out the review of the US release on this site.
I believe though you lose the first extras disk which was on the previous release.
You can also get this in Diamond Luxe packaging as a Zavvi exclusive in the UK.

I mean from a design perspective.

Why replace the sunset colours and the classic typeface for the title?

Not that I care, I got the red velvet 70th anniversary box set - my first BD actually.

It looks like this Diamond Luxe edition misses out the normal disc two, as the disc two in this one just has the two new featurettes?

Yeah, that version just lost so many extras, it's worth hunting down the classic red film poster version if you can, but it's not cheap these days.

Thanks for the heads up on this - managed to get a copy of the 2-disc 70th anniversary edition with the original poster art in the HMV 5 for £30 offer.
