Default Dualshock battery drain when PS4 off

Hi, I was wondering if this was normal, the other day I left my controller with 2 bars of charge and didn't use the PS4 for like 3 days, then today I find out when turning it on that I have 0 bars left.

My PS4 was completely off, not just in stand by, I know the battery sucks compared to PS3 for wathever reason (the battery is actually bigger and still uses bluetooth) but this is ridiculous.

In my experience, if the PS4 is showing that the controller charge is anything less than full then it's close to being dead. The battery life in that controller is pathetic, which is a shame since it's otherwise one of my favorite controllers ever.

Battery drain is typically 3-4 days on a full charge.

This is normal because Sony went with a 3.65V 1000mAh battery for use with smaller electronics which usually require daily charges.

When my PS4 is off my battery doesn't drain. The battery life sucks when my PS4 is on but when off I've left it at 2 bars and didn't play it until well over a week and was still at 2 bars.

Ok, then it must be that the battery is dying, I bought the PS4 used on eBay, and while the console model is the newer and is in perfect condition, I believe the controller they put in was a much older one, since it is the old model number, also doesn't have the rubber that apparently sucks on the sticks and breaks easily, but it came with some gel pads which are pretty good.

Seems like the controller is older than the console.

My Wii U controller drains though when not in use. I have a charger/stand for it but when I didn't have it in and the Wii U was off it would still die.

the battery life is a disaster, 3-4 hours? but it never drained when the system is off or even on rest mode for that matter

Sony really screwed the controller this gen. Bad sticks on the first batch, sucky battery life.

One thing I love though is the SHARE button. I like how they added it onto the controller vs what X1 has. I prefer the X1 controller over the DS4 but I love how Sony added the share button right on the controller. Touch screen has so far been pretty useless in most games and really could have just been avoided all together. Though it does make for opening maps in some games a lot easier.
