Ive been really looking forward to seeing what they would bring us on this final EE set and I'm highly disappointed with the statue. They'd be better off just giving us coupons to buy our own statue off Weta.

The statue is a little bit dissapointing but I got to have it anyway to complete my collection!

I'm happy they gave us the best scene in the movie. However the quality... Weta has not been great with LOTR statues for anything but orcs and scenery. Any attempt to capture the likeness of any actors has failed.

As a Sideshow statue collector, all these statue are a tad underwhelming in their design...but for the price paid, I'm happy with it.

Is the Collectors Edition not going to have the 3D version as well? Only reason I was holding off getting the 3D version and the movie in general for the Collectors Edition as I have all the other collectors editions. I will be a little disappointed if this collectors edition doesn't come with the 3D version. It would mean that i have to buy both if I wanted the statue set and the 3D version.

Anyways... Anyone have any idea if there will be a 3D collectors edition of this movie?

If it's like the first two films Amazon will have two separate boxes, a 2D and a 3D edition. They are exactly the same except one will have the 2D Extended Blu-ray and one will have the 3D Extended Blu-ray. The outer box and statue will be identical between each box set. Keep a lookout for updates and pre-order links.

Cool, and I hope so. I did not even notice that the other Hobbit Box Sets had a 2D version. Thought there was just one version which included the 3D. Probably because I only cared for looking for the 3D versions when ordering them I guess.

Anyways... Now I just have to continue the waiting game. Thanks for the reply.

Same thing here, bought the first 2 and just have to get the third one to complete it.

It has been discontinued by Warner, and Amazon was not able to meet demand for just the 3D set. Very few 3D sets got in the hands of customers. No numbers released as far as I Know. People have had to buy the stand alone 3D release, and the 2D release with statue, if they wanted the statue.
