Good movies that were kind of ruined for you by one factor?

Thought of this because I just watched the 3rd man. A good movie, but the music felt completely wrong. It felt like light, romantic music for a noir thriller. Took me out of the movie quite a bit.

Really? I thought the music was one of the best parts. Although I've seen others say the same so I guess it's not just you.

Some lunatic thought this tense thriller needed a jaunty piano score which made it sound like an episode of Maude, and it's a constant distraction.

This is actually very hard for me since I usually don't like a single problem bother me but I'm going to say Knocked Up, Katherine Heigl enough said.

A lot of mid-late 90s movies are almost ruined by bad CGI. Some off the top of my head: Escape From LA, Lost in Space, Species, Spawn, and An American Werewolf in Paris. Granted, they're already flawed films, but they are taken down another notch because of the CGI.

I thought the score in Battle Royale was awful and didn't fit the film at all, that was the one problem I had with it.

Fright Night (1985) - Amanda Bearse came off as an annoying brat.
Employee of the month - Because of Jessica Simpson's horrible acting.
Grandmas Boy - The Party scene. Funny movie but that should have been left out.
Warrior (2011) -

Shutter Island (2010) - Too predictable, I figured it out when I watched the trailer.
Guardians of the Galaxy - The dancing at the end.

Absolutely ruined the movie imo, and the decisions got dumber from there.

One issue with that, none of the science in the film is real (yet). There is no way to apply logic to their science, for all we know, hyper drive can get a ship through a force field... there is no way of saying that doesn't make sense.

One that comes to mind is City of Angels. Good film but when I bought it the cashier told me she didn't like it because at the end

It was a cheat. Not a horrible one, all things considered and certainly not a deal-breaker (I was pretty much pot-committed by then anyway) but it was a bit of an eye-roller just the same.

[Show spoiler]The shields weren't that easy since even Han wasn't sure they would be able to pull out of Hyper Drive in time to not crash into the planet, it was a very risky gamble. A second too early, they would crash into the shield, second too late, they crash into the planet.

I've never liked the guitar theme music in The Third Man.

It sounds a little goofy to me.

It's the kind of music that I'd expect to hear in a Woody Allen movie or something.

But I generally don't like film scores from the 40s and 50s.

That being said...The Third Man is still awesome.

Let's see...

The last ten minutes of Psycho are just terrible. Fortunately they are the last ten minutes and are kind of easy to forget about.

DeNiro almost ruins The Godfather Part II for me. I know, I know, I know but sue me, I just cannot buy into him in that part. His Italian seems so forced it just shreds my suspension of disbelief.

John Hurt was almost a little too John Hurt in Only Lovers Left Alive. I love the guy but I wouldn't have minded somebody else in that role.
