So I bought the Vizio P-Series 65 inch 2015 model with HDR10/Dolby Vision.
Would like input on my odd situation. I purchased it from Costco, and the P65-C1 arrived and was working, picture looked great. We move into mounting the tv. Dad goes to buy the mounting screws while I update everything. Gets back and we look at the back of the unit. All pictures did not show mounting screws in the holes on the back, but we look and are surprised to find them. So we start unscrewing them to apply our mount. 1 comes out as expect...then 2... then 3.... We get to 4th M6 screw and it starts to turn...then click...starts to turn then click...etc We assume someone or a machine over torqued the screw and stripped it beyond removal. So we call Costco, who put us through to Vizio, and the rep tells us the mounting screws weren't supposed to be in the holes at all. So our assumption is someone messed up, panicked, then proceeded to rentering 3 more M6 screws to hide the obvious screw that is in the back. So Costco is now going to call and send out another and pick up the old one. Anyone who had no plans to mount would not find a problem with it most likely but we bump into this unit... Anyone know if theirs came with M6 mounting screws already in the holes? Also can anyone tell me how I am supposed to know if HDR was active while I was watching Xmen apocalypse? It looked amazing but I couldn't tell if anything was activated or if I was a firmware update behind. Thanks Last edited by Stevenn1992; 01-30-2017 at 02:06 AM. |

No, screws should not have been in the holes.
To see when HDR is active, on the tablet go to settings in the Vizio app, then System, System Information, Display Information. On that page is a section labeled HDR. It will say yes or no. I suggest you start with the first post on the owners thread on AVS: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lc...lk-please.html |

Thanks for the reply. It's crazy that the mounting screws were inserted already. Boggles my mind and now I'm waiting on a replacement.

Yes, I have a P55. I enjoy it immensely. But this display also has its own thread in the Displays section if you'd like to ask more questions or get more opinions: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=275476
