Expecting Kung Fu Panda 3 to be the only one of these films to even make a blip on box office results.

Only thing I'm interested in is Jane Got a Gun, but I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a limited release. Don't know if it will be playing around me.

I dunno, Kung Fu Panda still has fierce competition from Norm of the North.

None of the previews for children's films coming out this year so far makes me think I ever want to see them. Then again I am almost 36 so I'm obviously not the target audience.

Finest Hours looks pretty good, but Kung Fu Panda 3 will crush everything this week.

KFP 3 is gonna vastly underpeform. Been way too long for a sequel to this one.
I would think many kids still would want to see Star Wars ( I know I sure would if I was a kid) .
I say it opens to only like $30 million.

Finest Hours might open to $9 million if lucky

It may under perform, but it is a kids movie with a built in audience and no competition besides that terrible Norm Of The North and Star Wars which I'm sure most kids that wanted to see it have. It will still crush this weekend even if it is below projections.

Kung Fu Panda 3 $45 million
The Finest Hours $10 million (13 Hours might have stolen its audience and Disney doesn't know how to promote non-franchise/brand fare)
Fifty Shades of Black $6 million (A Haunted House 2 pretty much showed audiences are tired of Marlon Wayans' shtick)
Jane Got a Gun $2 million (pretty much being dumped by Weinstein after several delays)

I'm hoping somewhere in the 7-11 Million range for Jane Got A Gun. Looks really fun. Honestly I think this could have been a very solid performer. Anywhere from 30-60 Million total. But Weinstein seems to have botched it with late in the game promotion. They should have pushed it harder. Has more Box Office potential than most of their Oscar hopefuls had. They didn't even have a trailer to start attaching to movies until The Hateful Eight. It's been with some prints of The Revenant too. I saw it with Carol the other day.

Here's a TV spot:

I don't think it will flop. I see it doing better than A Haunted House. Fifty Shades is hot right now. A spoof should do well. I'm thinking it might open 20-22 Million.

Here's a TV spot:

Jane Got a Gun TV SPOT - Gunslinger (2016) - Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton Movie HD - YouTube
Jane Got a Gun was a late pickup for Weinstein (the producers got the rights back after the turmoil at Relativity and sold it to the company that already had foreign rights) and Weinstein already released The Hateful Eight (in addition, Weinstein's having money troubles themselves). In addition, there was the difficulty over the production (a change in director days before shooting, numerous casting changes, lawsuits aplenty) so it's probably just a case of "get it out of the way as soon as possible".
