Default Blu-ray Player vs Roku 3

Do any of you think the picture video streaming on your Blu-ray player looks better then on your Roku 3?

Netflix seems iffy to me when watching either way. The audio stream is often lower via the BD player then the Roku. Amazon's app is really good as it Hulu.

Lets interpret this question as how I think it is meant. You want to know if the PQ of a streamed app directly from a roku 3 to a display is any better then from a BD player to a display. Most of the time the BD player will clean up streamed video better because the roku 3 lacks anything great in the way of video processing or adjustments.

Yes this is what I am asking.

However, the new Roku 4 offers 4K streaming with 24fps support and no standalone Blu-ray player offers native 4K streaming yet. Maybe some of the new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player models coming soon might.

Some Samsung models offer streaming display in 24Hz, Roku and most other streaming devices only stream in 60Hz.
So if you have a Samsung player that is 24Hz enabled, that will result in better quality when streaming

There were a few consumers online that mentioned that some of the Roku devices support both 60fps and 24fps (Also the Roku stick when connected to a modern OPPO Blu-ray player is mentioned to offer 24fps according to some posts in the OPPO BDP-103 thread). I have not personally tested the Roku streaming devices to verify the user reports.

None of the Roku devices, nor any of the other most popular ones for that matter, support 24fps. They all convert to 60Hz.
A few BD players, beside OPPO, offer that advantage when it comes to streaming 24fps content
