Default George Romero's "Jacaranda Joe" short film - FREE Virtual Screening April 12th, 2022

The University of Pittsburgh and their University Library System is hosting a free virtual screening of George Romero's "Jacaranda Joe" on April 12th, 2022 for any/all that may be interested in seeing this previously unseen short film created by Romero during 1994. This is the first ever public screening.

hosted by the University Library System

Click here to register. This event is virtual.

In 1994, George A. Romero traveled to Valencia Community College in central Florida to make a short film about a swamp-dwelling bigfoot called Jacaranda Joe. Largely unknown and presumed lost, a copy of the film was discovered in the University of Pittsburgh Library System’s Romero archive.

Join us for the film’s FIRST EVER public screening, followed by a discussion with Valencia alums who worked on the film.

Dial-In Information

Registration is required. Registrants will receive the access link upon registration via email.

Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Virtual Event
This is webinar that will feature a Q&A afterward and is being hosted via Zoom so I'm expecting the presentation to potentially be questionable, however it may prove to be the only time we may ever get to see said short and so if you have even a mild passing interest in Romero, it may be worth registering. The film is purported to be roughly 17 minutes in length with the rest of the time devoted to the Q&A.
