Caught a promo for this. No word on whether a blu-ray release is planned, but it airs November 8th for those that have Sky 3D. And in 2d on Discovery Channel.
http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2015/09/disc...ld-west-in-3d/ The format should be similar to his previous series on WW1: using antique stereocard imagery to illustrate the history, complimented with modern 3D footage discussing the subject with historians and exploring the various locations and artifacts. INTERVIEW: Tony Robinson on his new Wild West documentary series what I found interesting is where he talks about how it came to be that stereo photographs were being taken in the 1880s Wild West.

Thanks for alerting us to this, interdimensional.
Déjà vu. Don't you just love it when some TV personality comes along out of the blue and announces a new discovery that everybody else has always known. Well, of course, 3-D photography started in the 1850s and of course stereo photographs were being taken all over the world starting in the mid-1800s. Recently I was working with a dozen stereocards taken in Tombstone, Arizona in 1880 a year before the gunfight there. That's the fence closing off the O.K. Corral that Tony is standing in front of in the link provided above. I thoroughly appreciated Tony Robertson's World War 1 3-D documentary. Looking forward to watching this on 3-D blu-ray. |

Yeah, I know. The phrase 'never before seen', is also bandied around. Though I suppose it's in the nature of historical programming. It's all old news, but if they can present it like a fresh discovery they will. They do what they can to drum up interest. It'll probably be new to the majority of the audience anyway.
To date no bluray has been announced, I don't know if it's something we can take for granted, but perhaps there's still time to talk them into including a stereocard gallery as an extra. These things should be obvious, but so often overlooked. |

Any word on the bluray for this? I can't seem to find anything. The WW! blu contained 3D and 2D. Hopefully this will be the same.
