After watching Ip Man 3 in the cinema my love of asian action movies has been reignited somewhat.
During my teens I used to collect every Hong Kong Legends DVD I could get hold of (A lot of which I regrettably sold years ago during harder times) Since their demise Cine Asia (And Dragon Dynasty in America) seemed to rise out of their ashes but died once more. Now it seems to be that older Hong Kong titles being released is pretty much non existent (Save for the recent Bruce Lee releases) but even every modern title I look up seems to be released by a different distributor and many of those seem to go out of print very quickly, what gives? I think there's still a market for these titles right? Does anybody know if any company still owns the rights to the old Hong Kong Legends releases? |
