Got my piece today but disappointed because there is no slipcover.
Unlike the UK which come with a slipcover.

Video Bitrate is approx 10000 lower than UK so if you can, better grab the UK Version.

Barking up the wrong tree if you're expecting slipcovers for Criterion releases....

I own both the Criterion and the Eureka! blu-ray. I said it in another thread and I will repeat myself here. The Criterion release is an Eureka! lite release. PQ looks about the same to my untrained eye though it is possible that Criterion is slightly less "yellow" tinted in some scenes. I also posted some screen caps that compared the old Tai Seng dvd vs the Criterion and Eureka! blu-rays. The Eureka! release really is the winner in my opinion.

Not sure I get the "Eureka! Lite" comment. Doesn't the Criterion release have a more robust supplement package?

Though, the number of extras may be about the same, I feel that Eureka! did it first and slightly better (imo)! The only "real" extras that Criterion offers are the interviews with Hsu Feng and Shih Chun. Everything else is ported over from the Eureka! release, though re-arranged. So, instead of getting Tony Rayns audio commentary, Criterion offers up an video interview with him. He pretty much says the same thing. There is an interview with Ang Lee that really serves no purpose (imo). Plus, Eureka! have the 36-page booklet with King Hu interview and the original story that the movie was based on. Both releases have the Cannes Film Festival statement by King Hu.

I get preferring one over the other, just not sure I understand the "lite" term when the Criterion actually seems to have more content. Of course at this point the greatest advantage the Criterion version has is that it's still in print.
