Guitar hero 1 & 2 on PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

Guitar hero 3 is being released here in the UK on Friday the 23rd, now with the new PS3 controller can you play the PS2 versions of GH1 & GH2 on the PS3 as well

And does it look any good

You can buy cheap guitar controller to usb adapters. One of them I recommend for the guitar more cause not only does it work with PS2 and PS1 controllers, it also works with dance pads and has settings specific for guitar hero.
It lets you hook things up to your USB ports on your PS3 and is made just for that. Let me see if I can find a link...

I bought that adapter and it didn't work worth crap...some people got it to work.

But even if you do get it to work, hammer-ons and hammer-offs don't work, and you can't tilt the guitar for star power.

Pissed me off when I got GH3 and the controller didn't work at all for the first two games.

There are other adapters like it that likely work better.
Look around a little bit. I have 2 that work fine.
But it looks similar to the one I linked to.

There is not one adaptor that allows a ps2 guitar to work on a ps3 flawlessly. Some one of the buttons wont recognize others the wammy bar will not work.
