Can't believe something like this is being released on BR whilst the likes of Peep Show, also available in HD languishes on DVD.

That's because Peep Show is a Channel 4 program, and 4 seem completely uninterested in putting any current TV on Blu-ray. They have dipped their toes in with things like This is England '88, et al., but insofar as comedies go, nothing.

This was very funny. The creators broke every rule in the sitcom rule book for this. Its a cross between Only Fools & Horses and Father Ted.

Hey, I live over here in the US and was wondering if this Blu ray happened to be region free or not. I've seen a few episodes while I was over in Britain and fell in love with it, but I only have a Region A blu ray player. So I was wondering if anyone could test this out for me. Thanks!

You might get lucky as this appears to be a Universal UK release, which probably--though not definitely--means it's Region ABC and 1080p, but I would wait for the reviews and/or a price drop, as 18 quid for 6x25 min episodes is pushing it, IMO...

I received my copy this morning and this is what you can find on the back cover:

Video: 1080i High-Definition Widescreen 1.78:1 Letterbox
Audio: English 2.0 Stereo
Subtitles: None

It is labelled as region B and since I only have a region B locked player I couldn't tell you whether or not it is locked or region free.

Now it's GBP 8.49!

I've never watched the show, but read it's good. Is the show worth purchasing just to try?

I had this bluray for Xmas and am disappointed to find the episodes themselves are not in HD but just upscaled. I know it's not my equipment as the menu along with the universal sting and copyright messages are all in HD. Is this a fault with my disc or is it the same with everyone's? I don't understand why it shouldn't be in HD as it was made in HD, why put it on bluray otherwise,? It is very misleading.

I got this the other day and just wanted to check that disk 1 is a BD and disk 2 is a DVD or should they both be BD's?

Same here, I was expecting two blu-rays, I've sent mine back now as I was not happy with the episodes not being HD! Could everyone check to see if your episodes are in HD or not, as I am interested in finding out if mine was from a faulty batch, as I am sure they would not of intended to put upscaled episodes on the blu ray as there would be no point in doing the blu ray!

I could tell straight away, one of the things to look out for is the animated menu (where you click for episodes ect.) on mine this was HD as it looks sharp, where as the episodes and indeed the clips behind the menu look softer. It can be confusing as the picture is 1920x1080i resolution but it looks like they have used the DVD masters(576i) instead possibly by accident and just upscaled them. Also if in doubt just compare to the new eps on bbc 1hd.
