Australia Captain Scarlet (2005) Blu-ray Possible

After purchasing the recently released DVDs of Captain Scarlet (2005), I took a look at the company Vision Films who supplied Shock with the NTSC masters and noticed they also have available the HD masters.

Considering there are fans of this show awaiting a Blu-ray release, Shock told me in an email that a Blu-ray release will be dependent on the DVD sales.

Unfortunately the New Captain Scarlet series isn't well known in Australia, it was only shown on the ABC2 on TV long ago. I expect most fans have imported the DVD releases from the UK too.

Did Shock Records fix the episode order on the local DVD releases? the previous DVD releases in the UK used air date order, rather than production order.

I'm still disappointed the local DVD releases dropped the English subtitles, for no particular reason.

This is the first time I've seen the show so I don't know about the correct order. Plus, about the subtitle dropping this is Shock we're talking about. The company who did a cheap, hurried job with very little effort with The Bill DVDs.

I've watched the first 3 episodes so far and started watching the fourth and one thing I've noticed is they seemed to have updated Destiny's character model from episode 3.

The episode list with air date vs production order, is on the wikipedia.

I don't think it effects the story line much, except the last two episodes were in the wrong episode.

I have never heard about this show before! I just watched a trailer and some of the animation reminds me of a Nintendo 64 game called Blast Corps. Obviously this looks better but some for some reason it reminds me of the game.

The UK DVD was odd, with the final episode out of sequence. Totally ruins a cool place to end the series (though it's open ended of course incase they made another.)

The show was originally rendered in HD but for along time they thought the HD masters had been lost but were recently located so it's not impossible they will eventually become available but likely only on a streaming service or perhaps a niche Japanese release like with the new Thunderbirds Are Go series.

Turns out Shock already DOES have the HD masters but it was a business decision to just release it on DVD.
