Default iTunes Trailers

Does anyone else regularly download new trailers from iTunes every week?
Or at least do when it works. I haven't been able to download them directly from the iTunes store for about a month now. Anyone else notice or have this problem?

Having the same problem, glad you made this post. On one computer I get an error message, on newer laptop it just doesn't download at all. Is there anywhere where we can complain to iTunes directly so they fix it? I know Apple is deathly lazy, but I would have no trouble believing that literally nobody cared enough to alert them of the problem in the entire past month (besides us).

a few years ago when the removed the option to remove completely from the store and the site. I emailed them about. and so did many other i guess because the option returned to the store, but was a little different. Now Im afraid to mention anything to them in case the just remove the option again.

I just emailed them. Try to navigate through support until you find report problem with iTunes store. last time they gave me a free movie rental and free purchase because of this. I hope they just fix it.
this link may help a little. https://getsupport.apple.com/

They gave you a free movie purchase??? One time I was complaining to them about a problem with an I Am Legend download and rather than just give it to me, the rep actually said "I notice you have a rental credit, why don't you rent it instead?" lol I've seen them go to great lengths to NOT give a free purchase!

So I tried e-mailing them, and after five days got absolutely nowhere as expected. They wanted me to send them a screen cap of the problem lol. I don't want to say the reps are lazy per se, but when it's a general issue everyone is having would it kill them to just forward a memo to IT instead of making me do the leg work that no one listens to anyway?

Regardless, they said I need to contact the AppleCare technical Support Team, and gave the number as 1-800-275-2273. If someone else who cares could please handle this that'd be great, I've had it. The problem is that they refuse to treat this an issue everyone is having, and keep trying to make me give account details and specific error messages. As if it's so hard to believe *gasp* iTunes is fallible!

Yeah, in the movies section of the store there is a section for Theatrical Trailers. You have been able to download HD trailers for years. But right now you can't. Its my favorite part of the store. Getting actual HD Original Theatrical Trailers helped soften the blow of them not being included as extras anymore.

A movie rental for sure and some kind of TV purchase. I know I used it on an episode of some show. I got a response right away that time and the rep really felt for me i guess. i told them how important to me and disappointing I was. It was actually the reason I started redeeming digital copies. Also that it is a good way to demo iTunes 1080p downloads. Exchanged a few emails with that rep back in May 2013. They seemed like they actually cared.

I have gotten no responses this time. I'll keep trying, but probably won't call the number. I expected the trailer downloads to go away again, eventually. This is probably the time they go away forever.

If anybody at all wants to please call this number, I'm still e-mailing them after two weeks and they keep wanting me to send my account information

Slightly redundant to ask but are the trailers still not working for everyone else, has anyone found a workaround to download them? I'm still too lazy to call that number because they just kept insisting in e-mails that it was my personal computer not working.

Can't download through iTunes, but can right click on the download link, copy and then put into a browser for download from there.

It used to be the case that you could download trailers from the US iTunes Store. There's a link (still there) called Theatrical Trailers on the Movies page that would take you to a sort-of interface to http://trailers.apple.com, with options to download the trailers. Clicking the download button presented options of Standard / HD 720p / HD 1080p.

Clicking the relevant one now no longer works to initiate a download, but you can right click on it and 'Copy Link' to use the link to the trailer elsewhere. In my previous post I suggested this could be used to download (e.g., by putting in a hyperlink in a forum post, so you could right click on it and download there). This appears to only work for older trailers - newer ones just download a 4KB 'shell' file. However for newer ones you can open the link in QuickTime (File > Open Link and paste the download link in), and once it's fully buffered you can do a File > Save As. Not sure if it re-encodes a trailer - hopefully it doesn't!

Looks like they "fixed" the problem. They have removed the download option and now only have a play option. Disappointment.

That sucks so much. Way to go iTunes. The worst part is how they wouldn't be upfront when I e-mailed them about it, calling would've been an exercise in futility. I feel like they handle things the way they do to torture us half of the time.

Yeah. I emailed them again and they gave me directions to the trailer section. So I emailed them again and they gave me this link http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

So give them feedback that you want the download option. Trailer downloading was the original reason I chose iTunes over UV.

Will do. I have a feeling they're finally never coming back at this point.
