Does anyone else regularly download new trailers from iTunes every week?
Or at least do when it works. I haven't been able to download them directly from the iTunes store for about a month now. Anyone else notice or have this problem? |

Having the same problem, glad you made this post. On one computer I get an error message, on newer laptop it just doesn't download at all. Is there anywhere where we can complain to iTunes directly so they fix it? I know Apple is deathly lazy, but I would have no trouble believing that literally nobody cared enough to alert them of the problem in the entire past month (besides us).

a few years ago when the removed the option to remove completely from the store and the site. I emailed them about. and so did many other i guess because the option returned to the store, but was a little different. Now Im afraid to mention anything to them in case the just remove the option again.
I just emailed them. Try to navigate through support until you find report problem with iTunes store. last time they gave me a free movie rental and free purchase because of this. I hope they just fix it. this link may help a little. https://getsupport.apple.com/ |

So I tried e-mailing them, and after five days got absolutely nowhere as expected. They wanted me to send them a screen cap of the problem lol. I don't want to say the reps are lazy per se, but when it's a general issue everyone is having would it kill them to just forward a memo to IT instead of making me do the leg work that no one listens to anyway?
Regardless, they said I need to contact the AppleCare technical Support Team, and gave the number as 1-800-275-2273. If someone else who cares could please handle this that'd be great, I've had it. The problem is that they refuse to treat this an issue everyone is having, and keep trying to make me give account details and specific error messages. As if it's so hard to believe *gasp* iTunes is fallible! |

Slightly redundant to ask but are the trailers still not working for everyone else, has anyone found a workaround to download them? I'm still too lazy to call that number because they just kept insisting in e-mails that it was my personal computer not working.

It used to be the case that you could download trailers from the US iTunes Store. There's a link (still there) called Theatrical Trailers on the Movies page that would take you to a sort-of interface to http://trailers.apple.com, with options to download the trailers. Clicking the download button presented options of Standard / HD 720p / HD 1080p.
Clicking the relevant one now no longer works to initiate a download, but you can right click on it and 'Copy Link' to use the link to the trailer elsewhere. In my previous post I suggested this could be used to download (e.g., by putting in a hyperlink in a forum post, so you could right click on it and download there). This appears to only work for older trailers - newer ones just download a 4KB 'shell' file. However for newer ones you can open the link in QuickTime (File > Open Link and paste the download link in), and once it's fully buffered you can do a File > Save As. Not sure if it re-encodes a trailer - hopefully it doesn't! |

That sucks so much. Way to go iTunes. The worst part is how they wouldn't be upfront when I e-mailed them about it, calling would've been an exercise in futility. I feel like they handle things the way they do to torture us half of the time.

So give them feedback that you want the download option. Trailer downloading was the original reason I chose iTunes over UV. |
