Default SPL recommendation

Was thinking about getting one. for home use only … I really don't like the auto deal on the receiver

Thanks

I use both the receiver's speaker setup plus an SPL meter to get almost exact levels that I need from my speakers. The SPL meter I use is from Radio Shack, and upon looking, they do not sell it anymore. Ebay may have it. It's not the most amazing SPL meter in the world, but it gets the job done and my speakers sound amazing!!

I think all SPL meters have a & c weighting.

They have cheap spl meters for sale on Amazon. It might take a while to get them right now but they reportedly work pretty well. I've been meaning to get one myself since I can't tell how accurate it is using a phone and it doesn't even seem to register when decibel levels get into the upper 80s or so.
