Wajd War Trilogy - three war films from Andrzej Wajda, excellent films, among the best of all war films, Wajda still exists today and has done many other work

Mr Sheen: The movie is supposed to be excellent. Heard good things about Pledge v Bees Wax: Dawn of Hygiene, too.

Enough bullshit: Try to get hold of King Size (Kingsajz) by Juliusz Machulski. With Game of Thrones making mystical stories populated by dwarves accessible for all, this might well finally find its audience today.

It's a bloody odd take on communist Poland, and quite unlike anything you've watched until now.

There are a few copies out there, but only one release (and it's PAL) has English subtitles.

A Short Film About Killing (1988)
Westerplatte (1967) - a fantastic action packed war film.
Interrogation (1982/9) - extremely powerful prison drama made in '82 but not released until '89.
Dlug (The Debt) (1999)

Apologies you're right it's labelled as a French-German horror film. I only mentioned it because of the director.
