Question What's the best way to test MOD for defects?

Is there a way to test MOD DVDs without watching the whole movie or even fast-forwarding? I've watched and own lots of MOD DVDs from Warner Archive to Fox Cinema Archives, but there are a few I get that are defected. For example, I bought Ride Vaquero! earlier this month from a third-party and I think I got it last week but only had the desire to watch it tonight, but until the 19th minute mark the film froze. Over a few years I've received about 5-8 defective ones mostly sold by third-party sellers on Amazon and two from WBshop.com, but not directly from Amazon.com or even shop.TCM.com. I should always check them but I think it's the sellers or companies responsibility to check before they sell them.
