Default The Protector 2 (Tony Jaa)

NEWS/TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=14313

Quote:
Magnolia Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming 2D and 3D Blu-ray releases of director Prachya Pinkaew's Tom Yum Goong 2 a.k.a. The Protector 2 (2013), starring Tony Jaa, Marrese Crump, RZA, and JeeJa Yanin. The two releases will be available for purchase on July 29th.

Synopsis: In the sequel to Tom Yum Goong, Tony Jaa is the hard-hitting Kham. Kham is the last in long line of guards who once watched over the King of Thailand's war elephants. Traditionally, only the perfect elephants could successfully help defend the throne, after his harrowing quest to retrieve the elephants, Kham returns to his village to live in peace. But for someone as good in martial arts as him, peace is but a wishful thought.

Note: Prachya Pinkaew's The Protector (2005) is already out on Blu-ray, courtesy of Vivendi Visual Entertainment. See our listing and review of this release here.

The Protector 2 is the worst movie I have seen in years, and I loved the first one.

I`ve seen the trailer and that was enough for me. Lots of cgi. And, what they did show looked pretty bad. Hope it hits Netflix someday. I might watch it just to see if its as bad as the trailer made it out to be. But, this movie came and went under the radar. I have not seen anyone talk about this film yet, really.

This movie wasn't as good as the first one. Too much CGI and in your face 3D moments. The whole roof top fights and chase were a joke. Roof time fights seemed not well choreographed and just plain boring but after that, it gets a little better. All other fights were well done but the movie just wasn't enjoyable. #20 had one good fight scene and I was expecting more from her, the Other main girl fighter kept getting tossed around like a rag doll. #2 had awesome fights scenes but I can't say much of The RZA.

I reviewed my copy of the film the other day. absolutley WRETCHED excuse for a sequel. fights were badly choreographed, the stunts were obviously fakes and JeeJa's fight scenes were totally wasted

I hope Tony Jaa's new movies are pretty good cause this movie is unacceptable. As I martial arts fan I bought this day one after seeing it online some months ago, but sadly it feels worse hd.

everything since Ong Bak 1 has deteriorated, except maybe The Protector. Ong Bak 2 & 3 are a joke. not sure I wanna see that one too but I'm curious because he's very talented.

Are 'The Protector' films actual sequels to the 'Ong Bak' series, or is it just that they have the same star?

While the first Protector movie lifts Ong Bak's plot practically wholesale, they are not related series wise.
