I’ve never heard of any of those except for Wednesday Addams and even with her, I didn’t know she was a detective. I always thought she was just a little girl in the Addams family. I guess I’m out of touch lol

Unfamiliar with any of those listed in the OP, so these are mine:
Inspector Morse, because of the characters militant highbrow leanings (especially his passion for Wagner opera), juxtaposed against the sordid mischief he has to deal with in his day job. Very well-written series, especially the ones based on the Colin Dexter books. Kriminaloberkommissarin Sophie Haas in the German series, Mord mit Aussicht, because of the fish out of water set-up (big city cop in is small rural village), and her amusing (often hilarious) interactions with all the eccentric locals. |

DI Jack Frost, Jack Frost is a gritty, dogged and unconventional detective with sympathy for the underdog and an instinct for moral justice who attracts trouble like a magnet. Despite some animosity with his superintendent, Norman "Horn-rimmed Harry" Mullett, Frost and his ever-changing roster of assistants…

I love Danny Regan and his nephew Joe Hill of the Blue Bloods TV show, and I also love Jim Longworth of the A&E cop show named The Glades.
![]() ![]() ![]() God bless you and the three awesome actors always!!! Holly P.S. Their commitment to the job and the way that they are when handling possible perpetrators is the reason why I love them. They are also good with the victims too. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Frank Marker. Public Eye ran for 7 series from 1965-75, but sadly 36 episodes were wiped. The DVD box is an essential purchase. Probably the most realistic depiction of a British detective, a loner who takes small cases and gets lied to, cheated and on one occasion wrongly imprisoned.

Columbo, Jane Tennison or Morse when I'm in a certain mood. Just want to experience how they crack the case - with brains usually.
Saga Noren (The Bridge), Luther, John Rebus, Line of Duty, Wire in the Blood when I'm in another mood. More dark and gritty - the Brits do this genre very well. Then there are also the classics, Sherlock and Poirot. That's more about the peculiar character and playing in the sandbox that is the Victorian and post WW1 time periods. |
