There are a lot of films, and each is different to each other so personally, which one of these is the most important thing for you?

I enjoy all elements of films, but story, character and writing means the most to me.

I'd say that it depends what the director is trying to do.

Inland Empire is a plot-less film but it works well, and so does The Big Lebowski.

Story and plot are not the same thing. Plot is an element of story.

Different films value their stories and characters in different ways, and utilise them as such. There's no universal way of doing so, it depends on what the film/writer is wanting to achieve.
