For some reason I'm still annoyed by the the marketing and misleading the trailer for Small Soldiers was. Like they're was never any mention or display of The Gorgonites throughout the trailer. It made the whole movie seem like the toy soldiers were going to war with humans and that humans are bad.

I remember my first exposure of The Gorgonites were through Burger King toys. Yeah, Burger King toys. I remember thinking "Who the heck are these guys!?!?" Little did I know once I saw the movie, The Gorgonites were the peaceful ones.

Honestly, I don't know why this still frustrates me till to this day, although I really do still enjoy Small Soldiers.

With Paramount finally licencing their catalog (as they own the live action material of Dreamworks), I hope Shout Factory or Arrow can finally get this movie on Blu-ray.

I just want to take this opportunity to say, Joe Dante's commentary tracks are the absolute best. He's funny, he's smart, he gives a lot of behind the scenes info, he's always has an upbeat attitude...it's infectious. I'm not a fan of The Howling, but I bought the Blu-ray solely for the vintage group commentary led by Dante. I wasn't disappointed.
