Sony's New 2025 BRAVIA 8 M2 has the New 2025 4th Generation QD OLED panel with increased brightness, enhanced color volume and color saturation, and as expected excellent pure blacks with excellent shadow detail.
![]() The new QD OLED Panel are also more energy efficient and generates less heat. Sony's XR Processor is reconfigured to take full advantage of the larger dynamic tonal range with excellent EOTF decoding and rendering all images from all content with more depth and detail. The A95L was by all the reviews a pretty sublime TV and to see this be said to be better in brightness and cheaper, that's going to be an interesting combination to see how it stacks up against the LG & Samsung offerings.
Rumours had it as possibly using the 4 stack tandem from LG but Caleb Denison turned out to be on the money saying they'd stick with QD OLED and apparently the QD OLED panel offered them what they were looking for, so hoping to see it bear out in reviews. Definitely nice to see Sony still in the mix |

No offence meant to Sony and their great engineers but this price difference for most people doesn't justify the difference in picture quality between the rivals to usually end up getting recommended. I can get a 65" or even 77" G series from a year prior usually on a deal hundreds or even a few thousand under what the same Sony models typically discount too. That said, i'm always interested in what the tech can do so happily awaiting reviews. These prices are a problem for those looking to buy. |

Sony's New Flagship BRAVIA 8 II is getting everyone's immediate attention who visits our store. The new advanced dynamic tonal range that renders more depth and detail in all images from all content is easily noticeable and enjoyable!
![]() The only complaint I have with Sony is that everyone wants to stay in our store and watch more content! Last edited by Robert Zohn; 04-23-2025 at 11:30 PM. |

Brian of Brian's Tech Therapy YouTube Channel is visiting us tomorrow morning to film Sony's 65" BRAVIA 8 II QD OLED TV.
During his time with us we'll also move the BRAVIA 8 II into our Home Theater Demo Room that is just behind the curtains at the back of our store's main A/V showroom |

Hi Robert,
Is the annual TV Shoot-Out coming up soon this summer of 2025? I'd love to find out how the Sony A95L and Sony Bravia 8 II (for me would be the 55") would compare to each other....and compare to the new LGs and Sammys just for kicks. I still love my Sony A9S 48" OLED, but might like to go 55" someday...... |

Curious if you can share yet, but is there a tentative date for the 2025 King of TVs shootout event? Probably waiting for the Z95B to arrive I suppose. |

Don't get me wrong, i'm sure they have people who will love it but objectively in a head to head with even the S95F and their deeper price cuts, i would think that model probably performs well enough to with the lower price be the choice for most consumers. I actually helped some friends way back around 2010 or just earlier buy a Sony LCD when pricing was more reasonable but now they repositioned themselves and gone "premium" but their performance isn't much higher for the premium charged imo. I was seriously looking forward to the A95L replacement but given Sony deliberately market this as not being their flagship and charged like $3k plus for a 55", i can't say i would recommend it personally. Hell, i thinm Panasonic might have a higher premium pricing but i think they will push the QD Panel harder than Somy did and be a true and propee outright winner against the A95L in almost all areas. |

Yes, Overall all of Sony's flagshipTVs have Sony's new 2nd Generation of the XR Processor, which is known for it's exceptional control of fast moving items and content, e.g. Ice Hockey.
Sony also retuned the XR processor to take full advantage of all of the new capabilities of the new 2025 4th Generation of the QD OLED Panel. So color fidelity, color volume and color saturation are enhanced with the new higher Dynamic Tonal Range of generating pure blacks with the new higher peak luminance and exceptional contrast control making every image for all content have the best upscaling, best motion resolution and following the EOTV PQ Curve perfectly. The two best "Picture Modes" for out of the box use is the "Professional" or "FILMMAKER" Picture modes. |
