This was a good movie. If you're a fan of films like National Treasure, you'll probably enjoy it (obviously the German version probably won't have English subs but it's been released in the US by Well Go USA)

Very nice looking steelbook. The movie was decent. I expected it to be a little better, but it kind of dragged a little, and wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be. I believe it's streaming on Netflix still for those that have the service.

Oh yeah I meant to look for that. It seems Netflix added quite a number of the Well Go USA films recently.

I saw that Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe is on there as well which is the "sister" film (for lack of a better term) to this one (they are both based on the same book series although Chronicles seems to be a much bigger departure from the source.)

You're welcome but just be aware they are completely different types of films. Mojin is more the comedy adventure type film a la National Treasure, The Mummy, etc while Chronicles is more of a Sci-Fi Action film. Other than some of the character names the films have nothing in common and no relation to each other as they were produced by competing studios that both had the rights.

My copy shipped on 3/21/17 from amazon.de. Supposed to get here (New York) around the end of the first week of April.

I've already read a report in the 3D forum that Mojin has fantastic 3D depth and plenty of popouts!

It amazes me that this movie was released in Asian theaters in 3D, but nowhere else in the entire world has Mojin been released on 3D blu-ray EXCEPT in Germany - DUH?!!!! Maybe the same thing will happen with Journey To The West, another Chinese 3D theatrical that NEVER had a 3D blu-ray release.

Seen it in 2D on Netflix. It's a fun "tomb raider" type movie with plenty of special effects.

Great mindless popcorn flick if one doesn't mind reading subtitles.

Report back how the 3D is. The US Blu-ray had some alternating aspect ratio scenes that would probably look pretty nice in 3D. I'd consider picking this steelbook up now that I know that it has English subs. I could always gift my other copy to someone.

A forum member based in Germany has already confirmed in the 3D subforum that Mojin 3D does indeed include the shifting aspect ratio, great depth and numerous popouts.

As mentioned previously, I watched Mojin on Netflix (in 2D) and it is a highly entertaining mindless popcorn flick that's loaded with special effects.

Looking forward to seeing this when the steelbook arrives.

Sorry to say but the back of the box says 5.1 Mandarin DTS-MA only.

No 7.1.

Will watch it tonight and give impressions.

The movie itself is pretty lame but the 3D and production design are spectacular.

German and Mandarin are in DTS-HD MA 5.1, optional subtitles in German and English are provided. Aspect ratio changes between 2.40:1 and 1.78:1.
