Germany The Hunger: The Complete Series -- 11 August 2016

Well, this is a surprise to me.

Koch Media will release the complete series of The Hunger (1997-2000) in Germany as a six-disc set on 11 August 2016.

Mercifully, according to the specifications currently listed by Koch, the series will be presented in its OAR of 1.33:1, and with an English: DTS-HD MA 2.0 audio track, too.

Wow, I was drooling over the DVD sets at Amazon just the other day thinking of picking those up and now this...
I believe the DVDs had some extras too, wonder if they will be carried over.

The only extra ever available on DVD appears to be a 26-minute Making of featurette which was hosted by David Bowie. It was apparently included in Koch's German DVD sets, so I don't see why it wouldn't be included here.

Never even knew there was a series based on the movie. Has anyone seen it and is it any good?

I've seen a few episodes - think MTV-style 'horror'/sub Red Shoe Diaries soft porn. Terence Stamp and David Bowie are good value though.

I always avoided it for some reason on TV, but with its appearance here--and at such a low price--I'm more than happy to ride the nostalgia wave with this, even if it ends up leaving me disappointed. I certainly never would have expected it to hit BD anywhere, let alone as a complete series set in Germany for under $30 shipped.

Does anyone know what happened to this? It's so weird. I ordered it on amazon, but it's suddenly been removed and replaced with a dvd instead on the site, but my order is not canceled and i haven't received any email about my order changing or anything.

Hmm, the link to the product page over at Koch which is listed in the first post seems to no longer support a BD release. Unless they've moved it, but I doubt that is the case. I reckon the BD's been cancelled.

EDIT: Yes, a search over at Koch now only shows a DVD release.

Is there elegance and sherry drinking in the TV series?
