But....not in 3-D, which was Dante's whole point in making the 80's-friendly "The Gate" homage in the first place (even back before the whole live-action 3D rush started)?

Excited to finally have this one. Watched it last year and thought it was great. But I do wish it would be coming out in 3D.

I'm glad that we're finally getting this one, although I do find it odd that no 3D version is being announced, since it was designed in 3D in the first place (and I'm not a big 3D fan in the first place)...

Extremely odd. Every big film made these days gets a 3D release even though most are converted, and ones that were actually made in 3D don't get a release at all.
Now the movie isn't exactly Dante's best, but it's good to see him getting a feature made at all.

No 3D version? How disappointing! This will just be a rental then.

About bloody time! Been waiting for this one, and sooo many times came close to importing it. Excited about this for sure, thanks for the news!

Here's hoping that by the official press release time, they'll announce a 3D version. I don't have a 3D tv yet, but love collecting the better versions of my movies

I have the UK disk. I haven't watched the 3-D version, so I don't know if it's the deal where they combine the 2-D and 3-D files to display the left and right image at once, but the 3-D file is quite small in comparison to the 2-D one.

Also have the UK 3D disc. Good movie, a little darker than the Goonies, but still a kid’s movie. Great 3D, definitely added to some of the creepy scenes in the end. Without looking it up, I assume it was shot natively in 3D. Region B coded though, so you must be region free to play it. If you like films like the Goonies & Super 8, you’ll like this one too.

Ok, I looked it up on IMDB, it was shot in 3D.

WTF? It is only coming out theatrically now?

Great film. The blu ray has been out in the UK for about a year!?!?!?!?

I can't seem to find a 100% answer that this is or is not a 3D BD release. I emailed the studio who's releasing this, hopefully we'll find out soon.

Think BBY's gonna carry this? It's on WM's site but not BBY's.

Comes out today, but impossible to find in Canada. No Canadian retailer lists it except for Amazon, and they don't have any. I placed a preorder for it in August when it went up, but it hasn't entered shipping status yet so I'm kinda leery that this is a US-only release right now, and nobody told Canada.

I saw this movie a few years ago and I quite liked it, so I pre-ordered it from Amazon as soon as the pre-order went up. I received it on release day (and of course the slip was slightly crushed), but I popped it in to the player to check out how well the picture quality was (looks pretty good). I only watched the first 10 min. or so, but... There's a part right in the beginning where one of the characters (Dane) cusses (he says sh!t), but they clearly replaced it with the word "sheesh". Wtf. Then I kept watching and he again cusses (this time it's d!ckhead), and they left that untouched. Sooo... sh!t is out, but d!ckhead is ok? Lol. Alrighty then. I haven't had the chance to watch the rest of the movie, but hopefully it's not all edited. Feels like I bought it from WalMart or something. Woof.
