I was reading this article today and thought I would share it.

It's about online shopping in Canada and why our taxes are so high. The answer might surprise you, but I found it informative. This was based on an investigation launched by eBay Canada.

I guess protectionism is alive and well in Canada.

uther, he dun' hurt no'body... go annoy someone else. I would not have seen the article had he not posted it here. Since it does explain why a lot of US retailers won't ship to Canada, and why it's so expensive to do so... I say he chose the right forum.

Why not purchase from a Canadian retailer and ship as a gift within the country? Won't work for everything but likely a better option than buying a BD in the US then exporting it. I don't buy Canadian product in Canada to ship to the US if I can just do it through a US retailer. Even better you'll likely save money due to the current exchange rate.
