Yeah I got this Philips 5.1 system that uses DD (NO dts support) and I made the mistake of replacing my DVD collection. So as you'd guess, I'm stuck with DD 2 channel or basic PCM. While my Sony bdp-3700 does a nice job of converting dts, these newer formats don't exactly downmix and allow for any further conversions as I needed. I'm left with trying to figure out if there's anything I can still do on my player or if I've no choice but to upgrade.
Living in a small apartment with shady neighbors isn't exactly the best thing I like having to deal with, so going as far as dts-hd/atmos might not be the best idea. |
