MVD will be releasing Michael Moore's comedy film Canadian Bacon, which stars John Candy, on Blu-ray on September 13th!

I've been waiting for this one for a while now, ever since I missed out on Delirious on KL... Looking forward to this one. Wish it was a Rewind Collection title, however. Oh well, good enough.

As a WNY’er, there’s so much stupid regional humor in here but I’ve always wondered if that humor plays well with people far away from the border.

Anyone who's bought this disc and hasn't opened it yet, I suggest you do so now and double check that you have the correct film. I bought my copy about 2 weeks ago and came to find that, while the disc art is correct, the content of the disc is for a copy of "Puppetmaster Legacy". Looking at the reviews on the site this has been a problem since at least 2024.

After the year Canada has had so far, the timing of this release is hilarious--will there be a tariff applied if we pre-order?

I haven't seen this film, but the idea of John Candy playing an American and not a Canadian seems weird to me, but isn't a dealbreaker.

Please tell me that Toronto really does get blown up! (kidding, we love Toronto, except for the Leafs and that they don't support the Argonauts enough)

I never knew that Michael Moore directed scripted films. Always thought he was just a documentarian.

I managed to get a replacement disc with the actual film on it. The customer service chat on MVD Shop seems to be the way to go. They have a phone number, but they seem to have outsourced that to a company called oldies.com. They told me to contact Amazon, and I got nowhere explaining that that'd just get me another disc from the same bad batch with the wrong film. I also filled out their service ticket form and never got a response. The chat on mvdshop.com actually got me in touch with a person who knew what to do.
