Sony Pictures Resident Evil: The Final Chapter 3D Blu-ray (2016) [Region B Locked / Free]

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was released on 3D Blu-ray pretty much everywhere except the USA. Many editions (e.g. UK, Germany, Australia, Scandinavia, Czech Republic, Korea, Mexico) are REGION FREE but some (e.g. France) are region locked. As a general indicator, if the distributor is Sony, it's likely to be region free.

Not sure about it being in 3D or not. Paul said it will be in the format and RealorFake has the film Real 3D. But I don't officially know.

It's a good bet that he will do that exact same thing as the previous two Resident Evil 3D movies (and The Three Musketeers and Pompeii) and shoot it in 3D with a similar crew and similar cameras. The 3D will likely look similar to his other work as well--satisfactory native 3D with good composition and use of pop-outs but conservative interaxials and poor roundness.

I cannot friggin wait for this!!! I adore this series and I love the vibe of the teaser! I'm think it will still be in 3D since Paul said at that Beijing conference awhile back that it would be

USA The Final Chapter in 3D

Milla Jovovich in her Facebook video chat Tuesday mentions that it will be available in 3D when answering a question from a fan with about 2:12 left in the video.

See.... (Excited to chat with you about the RE teaser!)

At last, the final chapter so this series can be rebooted and we can get a proper Resident Evil movie!

I figure the same, except that I expect pop-outs to be restrained and barely noticeable, as they were in Pompeii and The Three Musketeers.

Interesting trailer that really focuses on the action as expected.
I agree that Paul WS Anderson will likely stay with what he knows and film the 3D more conservatively with much of the 3D except for the big action shots, where he amps it up a bit thankfully.

Looking forward to this.

Something genuinely scary with more direct horror would be welcome. I'm an action/horror fan, so I don't mind this series otherwise.

Trailer 2: Check out this very different trailer, which has a more epic style to it IMO.

I can definitely enjoy this movie iteration of the franchise due to the action and VFX etc. but the early RE games had great stories and I always wanted a movie version of Code Veronica, which IMO was a really fantastic game.

So I guess Legend3D would be converting the odd shot they couldn't get natively, and maybe working on stereo visual effects elements, etc.?

Prior to the promotional materials not mentioning 3D, everything I'd heard suggested Anderson was again shooting in the format and I can't imagine that--if they have a completed stereo version--the distributor would elect to only release in 2D. That might be more of a possibility with the disc release if Sony is changing their thinking about supporting Blu-ray 3D. The only thing I've noticed on that front is the combining of 3D and 4K discs into the Ulrta HD releases, as with the new Ghostbusters...so I'm hoping we can expect the same treatment for RE: The Final Chapter and that 3D is coming.

Hopefully in a steelbook to match my other 5 (6, with Degeneration). EDIT: Never mind; the 3D versions weren't released in steelbooks. Double dipping, again.

Watching these trailers has only made me remember how ridiculously labyrinthine and overstuffed with characters the plot in this franchise has been for such a dumb action series... to the point where I can't really remember what's even supposed to be happening.

I mean I'm sure I'll still go see it but I'll need to read Wikipedia recaps or something right before.

I agree that they need to find one of the creators to write the story when they reboot the name Resident Evil. Resident Evil 4 is pretty well received also.

Alice is up against Wesker and Umbrella, trying to untie her connection from them as a hybrid human with super powers while destroying the zombie originating corporation at the same time. She finally achieves becoming human again, and now has to supposedly join with her enemy to stop the final onslaught of the zombie hybrid monster invasion.
Lots of over the top action, effects and in 3D.

That wasn't the ending of the last film ...

which will be completely ignored in this film.

That's true, (Wesker
[Show spoiler]eliminated
in Afterlife RE) but it's a quick summary of the series more or less. Wesker looks like he
[Show spoiler]betrays Alice in the new one as she says something like "I should've finished you when I had the chance".

Well the synopsis does mention that
[Show spoiler]Wesker betrays Alice in Washington D.C., so I don't think the ending of Retribution is being ignored. I really hope they have an action sequence of the beginning of the movie in continuation of Retribution
