Disney Secret of the Wings 3D Blu-ray (2012) [Region Free]

Tinker Bell: Secret of the Wings 3D Blu-ray

In case anyone hadn't noticed:
(And thanks to Unjichan for the grafk, who's been posting it on the regular Disney threads, but I'd felt it needed the isolated forum discussion with the experts )

If you skimmed and threw away your Lady&Tramp ad flyer as usual, you might have missed a little something at the bottom of one of the ads:

(If someone still has their flyer and can do a better quality scan, feel free to verify--I can verify the ad does say that, but my photos would be just as blurry.)

As UC pointed out, the re-rendering would explain the sudden year-long delay and retitling/remarketing.
But also, the fact that Disney would feel the need go back and re-render a CGI title that WASN'T in 3-D and "should" be--and for Target-mom DTV disk buyers, not just theatrical (or foreign theatrical)--is a....very interesting point to consider about the industry status of B3D saturation at the moment.
The catalog re-releases of G-Force and Toy Story/ies were cleaning up existing 3D theatrical titles, but for Disney to feel that there should be NEW ones on disk? Someone clearly thinks it's not going away any time soon.

It DOES say also available in 3D. I just verified on my flyer from Lady and the Tramp. I didn't even notice that when I first looked at it. I wasn't interested in a Tinker Bell movie. I am still not interested. But I like the fact that they would be releasing new non-theatrical stuff in 3D.

I've actually been really impressed with the quality of the direct to video Tinkerbell flicks. Will definitely pick up one in 3D!

That sounds very promising.

I agree that Disney is beginning to take the lead in the 3D industry with plenty of 3D movies to watch. It is great to see an industry giant support an awesome entertainment media such as 3DTV, when done right on Blu Ray 3D.
Imax 3D was the early leader and continues to release many documentary 3D specials, which usually deliver the 3D.
Dreamworks is doing a nice job, but we need more.

I hope the CGI film Beowulf 3D is released soon to Blu Ray 3D. Paramount has it on hold for the moment.

Yes, this is really relevant to my "To buy or not to buy, that is the question" thread isn't it?

I was never tempted to buy the "Barbie" 3D DVDs when going through my anaglyph 3D phase and I think I'll do the same with Tinkerbell.

Having said that,I have Tangled and its one of the best 3D Blu-rays out there.

Same here, mostly because Tinker Bell was always geared towards a female audience, while I rather see action/adventure type movies with a female heroine like Selene (Kate Beckinsale) from the Underworld series or Alice (Milla Jovovich) from the Resident Evil series, provided they kick @ss and there's plenty of well filmed action.

I bet this will have great visuals and 3D no doubt.

I wonder if Disney will re-release the previous Tinker Bell movies as BD-3Ds.

I've been wondering for months now but when will the Blu-ray / DVD version in Blu-ray packaging of the film finally go up for pre-order? Every single version of the film, including the Spanish version, have gone up except that one? Thanks in advance!

Probably stated region free as all Disney US Blu's are region free as of the past year or two.
