Studio Canal just dropped their 2023 line-up preview clip which features The Wicker Man among other great picks. Coming this year!

I hope that CONTEMPT on 4K doesn't end up having that color timing seems off.

but I'm all for a 4K of THE ICE STORM and PEEPING TOM !!!

Really wish Studio Canal would release a 4K of Tales of Hoffmann to blind me... but I guess that one isn't being considered currently.

Cutthroat Island? cool, I feel that is a better pirate movie than those Disney ones. I hope one day The Pirate Movie (1982) gets a release.

Should be noted that some of those titles have also been featured in previous yearly previews from StudioCanal and we've still not seen remastered Blu-ray or 4K releases. If you look at some of their other older yearly previews, some titles seem to have been forgotten about or handed off to other labels.

Yup, before they start setting off the fireworks for their 2023 Preview they need to pull their finger out and release the titles from their 2022 preview. *cough* Near Dark *cough*

Having said that - Manhunter, Wicker Man and Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron as possibilities for 2023? Oh god yes. Gimme!

Ohhh nice!! The Others, U-571, The Wicker Man, and the Ice Storm are standouts for me. I'll be getting all of them assuming the picture and sound are high quality. We'll see.

Do we know if all the titles featured in the video would necessarily get 4K releases?

I'm most excited about Contempt. The color timing in the video does differ from that on SC's old Blu-ray, but I thought that disc was pretty poor in PQ. Are you going off another reference when you say color timing seems off?

The assumption that people are running on is the titles after, “coming soon”, would get a release.

Right - but I wasn't sure if it was just assumption the "coming soon" titles were all getting 4K releases or if there was some other indicator (video isn't clear). It could also be that some might be only getting Blu-ray releases or even just theatrical re-releases.

Would be odd if Inland Empire got a 4K release when Criterion only put out a Blu, wouldn't complain though!

The color seems off with the shot of Bardot outside, it seems to have a tint to it that seems sick looking to me.

I have the Criterion DVD and SC Blu … and I know it’s never looked ideal but it has a gross look to it.

I’m guessing all the clips aren’t what they may look like but I found it concerning.

Yup, that's another reason why I was wondering if all the titles in the video were getting 4K releases. I was gearing up for getting it in the Criterion flash sale, but now I'm not so sure!

The titles shown in the 2022 preview ended up being a mix of 4K UHDs and remastered 1080p releases so I would expect a similar mix this time around.
