I wonder if there will be some kind of tribute to Tony Scott in this set...

As nice as this set looks, its overpriced and will be redundant if Paradise gets made. So its a no from me. Plus Ive got the Alien boxset already and have Prometheus steel on order of course.

They need less in these Alien box sets, not more. I'd settle for a trilogy.

If Hollywood put as much thought and creativity into their scripts, rather than endless ways to separate punters from their money for the same product, their film industry might not be quite as crap as it currently is.

Well, he did produce Prometheus, and his brother Ridley, is one of the co-creators of the Alien franchise.

It would only be nice to have a tribute to Tony.

I was actually just commenting on the one "review" that's on Amazon's product-page. :P
Mostly how I'd agree that it's a little unfortunate that they made this set with all the movies, as most people would probably already have the Alien-movies.
It's a little disappointing, cause I do, and although I like this set with the extra items, I'm not going to buy the other movies again.

Also, I wish I could get the Play-SteelBook with both the regular and 3D version (I loved the 3D in this movie!).
Was this already available to pre-order and is it like "sold out" or does the pre-order still have to come?
Cause I'd be fine with that version even though it doesn't contain any extra items besides a nice-looking SteelBook.
Otherwise, I'm disappointed if I missed out on it...

No, that's cheating! Even though 3 wasn't great, it ended Ripley's story. It's how she deserved to go out, not brought back to life in a comedy.

There should be an Alien trilogy set and then an Oh My God, You Really Can't Get Enough Alien! set with Resurrection, the AVP films and maybe Prometheus.

Its the weakest of the four Alien films but I quite like the first half of Resurrection. Unfortunately its all downhill from the first half. Guilty pleasure I think!

As for the AVP films...these are not Alien films and deserve to be ignored.

I quite enjoyed the fourth one actually, for various reasons.
One of the thing is that it's the best-looking, but as for content, I enjoyed the characters more than the previous ones.
There are more reasons, but then again, there are some things that are stupid about it.

And, in all honesty, when I saw 'Alien' for this first time, which was a couple of months ago (ya, I know, very late), I was rather bored.
That's not because I'm some over-entertained kid, but be honest, there is not much going on in it.
However, then I saw 'Prometheus', and that's actually the movie I wanted 'Alien' to be, ironically.
Not that 'Prometheus' would've been as exciting without seeing 'Alien', cause they really kind of belong together.
But, admit it, when you see the very last scene, and you know 'Alien', you went like "Ohhh, we know what thát means!". :P
Well, it's also the case with other scenes, but just as an example.

So is there a extra BD disc for Prometheus with only extras or not? The US disc says only 4 disc and 3d+2D+dvd+digital copy.

Found this listing for this UK set, anyone know what VAM is?

9 Disc Set Containing;
4 x Alien Features – Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection
2 x Alien VAM (same two extra disc as old boxset?)
Prometheus CE 3D (includes both 2D and 3D BD)
Prometheus VAM (extras disc?)
Weyland Corporation T-Shirt
‘Art of Prometheus’ Exclusive Book Extract
Art-Cards
