Here we go.
About time. ![]() https://www.avforums.com/news/jvc-to...rojector.12851 IFA BERLIN 2016 : VIDEOPROJECTEUR 4K NATIF JVC LASER - Projection et Homecinéma ... But this fall, this situation will change. So on the JVC booth at IFA 2016 that the brand will unveil its first native UHD resolution projector ( 3840 x 2160 ) with a laser light source. Compatible HDR and able to reproduce the color space DCI-P3, it should be marketed at a price of around € 25,000. His reference is not yet known but at this price and with this equipment and options, it competes directly with the SONY VPL-VW5000ES marketed to over € 50,000. A beautiful confrontation to come and therefore we have no doubt that JVC engineers have had at heart to maintain the quality from home theater projectors generations, namely the contrast and optical quality. |

Sounds like it could be the ultimate projector. I will wait a bit after release and see what others have to say about it. I often look at my current projector and think if they put a laser light source in then that would be perfection. Sounds like JVC listened. |

![]() One advantage I can predict with the laser light source is the lack of heat. A thing I noticed with my 4K DILA panel is the individual colour alignment. RGB panels have to be aligned. With mine when the unit is cold the panels are slightly drifted. After 15 minutes they shift into alignment. As I aligned them with heat in the projector. With a laser light source and less heat I see this as less of a issue. Panel alignment is real important because if the panels a not aligned the image looks softer and it negates all the extra resolution. |

Interestingly when I viewed the Epson laser projector I noticed it produced more noise than the JVC and my DreamVision. So laser doesn't guarantee less noise. I use the cool components set to cool my power amps. They pride themselves on making the quietest fans for cooling equipment. Their fans produce more noise than my projector. Noise on some projectors has become kinda irrelevant. What they do need to do is get the noise down on gaming consoles. My PS4 sounds like a biplane in the room. |
