Canada Blade: Limited Edition Trilogy Collection (Blade / Blade II / Blade Trinity)

Anyone know anything about this new collection from Alliance Films and whether or not the aspect ratios are corrected from the previous releases?

They will probably just use the US transfers for this release.

This set is goign to have all three moves each on their own disc right? The description on this site just shows 25GB Disc. If this set has the three movies each on their own disc and with proper screen ration I would definitely get this set.

Looking at the list of extras, it would appear to be the newer US transfers that are being used. I thought they'd just stick the old Alliance ones in here, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Default Blade Trilogy: Limited Edition - Canadian DVD Box Set

http://www.amazon.ca/Blade-Limited-E...0600957&sr=8-6

Is anyone planning on picking this up? Would this be worth it over the individual releases?

I read somewhere that Alliance Films has a weird license. If a film is already out in the US, they can use the US materials (transfer, features, etc.). But if Alliance puts out a blu-ray before a US company, they cannot use any features or transfers for the US ones.

Here's how sure I am their versions are the same as US ones. Granted this is Maple and not Alliance, but they seem to share contracts. My Bloody Valentine (old one) I could only find the Canadian BD at Meijers. UPC wasn't in dvdprofiler, added by disc ID, exact same disc ID as the US BD from Lionsgate!

So if you have the US versions you'll be buying the same disc twice, just slightly different cover (often worse with dual language, thankfully MBV is English only!)

Betta 5 bucks that Trinity is the unrated version only, just like the US disc.

Any confirmation on whether this set contains the US or the Canadian release of these discs?

I assume its the US versions, but would love a confirmation.

I just ordered it off Amazon. Based on the special features it has to be the US release.

I will confirm once received.

Confirmed, all US released versions. Really awesome slip cover too.

Wonderful watching Blade last night in 2.4:1 with 6.1 DTS-master.

Thanks for the pics. I'm glad it's all in one slim case rather than 3 individual ones, as I like to save on space whenever possible. I wish the US got something like this too

I agree, love the fact that this only takes the space of one bluray. Also the slip cover is really nice.

I am sure something like this will be released in the US.

So where did you find it? I live outside Edmonton and it's not available anywhere here (Future Shop, BB, Walmart, HMV). I even emailed Best Buy and they said they had no record of it going to stores, but it shows up in stock online. If I have to order it from somewhere I'll just get the US versions from Amazon and print off a custom trilogy insert and use a three disc case.
