As of right now though, and I emphasize AS OF RIGHT NOW, there are a lot of movies that you listed in the Blu category that should also be considered in the Red category (Warner & New Line)...

Nevertheless, a very optimistic and resolute assumption on your part.

It actually depends on the New Line thing. If it's a Day-And-Date release with the DVD, then chances are it'll be Blu only for a while until it's international run is over with.

Not too excited about Blu from what I see on that list. Just The Dark Knight and Bond.

I'm sad to see Cloverfield, Iron Man, and Hulk on HD DVD.

What about Indiana Jones? If it comes to HD at all, won't it be HD DVD?

Yeah, I believe it'll happen but still let's not be overconfident, i.e. the bribe Paramount took.

Nice list for BD regardless. Especially excited for X-Files 2.

Isn't Sony the distributor for Iron Man and Hulk in Japan? If so, we should be able to import them here in the U.S.

One big problem with your list. You listed Indy 4 on HD DVD. That one will either be BD or neutral.

I put it on the HD DVD list because of the way the studios are supporting so ur probably right, but for now Paramount and Dreamworks are HD DVD

Yes, but it's a Spielberg directed movie and on the Paramount contract they specifically leave out any Spielberg directed movie.

Their position does not matter. Indy is directed by somone who has control over his releases. Read the Para/DW announcement of Red exclusivity. At the very bottom is a disclaimer saying thatt titles directed by SS would be excluded from this exclusivity as said director wishes his titles to be released either exclusively to BD or on both formats. Regardless of Paramount's position and whether or not it changes, Indy 4 will either be blue, neutral, or not released.

Chris

What I'd really like to know is, why hasn't anyone made a movie about the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia? The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is, in fact, the second title in the series (The Magician's Nephew is the first).

Edit: Woohoo--500 posts!

I think we can take that as a given, given that Close Encounters is available only on Blu-ray.
