[PS4/PS Vita]Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness Will Be Localized By NISA

North America will be getting the visual novel Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness a few months after its Japanese release. Last year, 5pb revealed it would bring the Xbox One visual novel to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 24, 2016. Now, ahead of its press event, it has come to light that NIS America has picked up the title and will bring it to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe this fall. In addition, the end of the trailer shows a Steam logo, alluding to a PC port.

Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is set during the beginning of the anime series inspired by the game. In the year 2113, the technology exists to analyze people completely. The Sibyl System scans people’s brain to discover their Crime Coefficient, which is how likely they are to commit a crime. The police force is made up of Enforcers, people who have a high Crime Coefficient and are capable of better understanding and capturing criminals, and the Inspectors that make sure Enforcers don’t turn in to criminals. Players can choose to be either an Enforcer named Takuma Tsurugi, who’s looking for his friend, or an Inspector Nadeshiko Kugatachi, a woman with no memories. Your decisions determine the result of each character’s investigations.

The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness will be available both digitally and physically in North America and Europe when released this fall.

I think the PS4 version is kind of a given to get a physical release. But it is nice that PS Vita gets a physical copy too unlike what Namco have been doing on some of their Anime games lately.

NIS America announced today that episodes one and two from the first season of the Psycho-Pass anime will be included with all versions of Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness. The English-subtitled episodes can be downloaded by anyone with a U.S. PSN account.

Psycho-Pass Mandatory Happiness is a visual novel set in the same world as the anime. Players make choices as Nadeshiko and Tsurugi that have a major impact on how the story plays out. It was originally released in Japan earlier this year.

Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America on September 13 and Europe on September 16. A Windows PC version is being released through Steam at a later date.
