Nope, not to my knowledge. I loved this movie when I was younger and I remember searching everywhere for it on DVD. I eventually bought a bootleg VHS transfer off ebay, but I was never able to find an "official" release. I don't even know who would have the rights to it now. Highly unlikely we will ever see a blu-ray release. Great movie though!

In similar news, I was able to find an official release of 'Thrasher' on DVD. If I'm not mistaken it was distributed by Fox/MGM. So maybe there is hope for an upcoming 'Thrasher' release on blu-ray. I would love a double feature of these two movies!

I believe the movie your referring to is "Thrashin" another one of my favorites.

FYI: There are HD versions of both RAD and Thrashin out there in torrent land. I got RAD a long time ago, and just recently found Thrashin. RAD was shown on a channel called "INHD" and capped by a fan, then put online. Thrashin I don't know where it came from but most likely the same scenario, capped from an HD source. Both look fantastic in HD. I can only imagine how much better they would look on an official HD transfer.

Man! I LOVED this movie! Posted it in the forgotten movies thread! Wish someone would convert it to DVD if not Blu.

Digital Downloads of the movie's soundtrack are popping up on websites including iTunes. I hope this is a good sign that we may see RAD coming to Blu-Ray

One of my all time favorites (obviously, just look at my avatar!)... or should i say there is a thunder in my heart for this Movie!

I follow Bill Allen on facebook, he is always doing gnarly events, i think they are even in the process of building a Hell Track somewhere (my time frame may be off, it is possible it was already built for a reunion last year, or one coming up)

Also you should all read his book "My Rad Life" it is really solid

Luckily i got a copy of the HD version on dvd years ago.

You can pry get a decent "non offical" dvd on ebay... good copy of the movie and good looking art

I have a goal in my life, if im ever lucky enough to hit that level (im working at it) to do a reboot of this... make Cru grown up, him and Lori Laughlin have a kid... keep it simple, but this is a story that could be a great sequel in todays world... bring back old school children's sports movies

Interesting if it's a legit release, but I kinda doubt it would look as good as the HD rip (and would be sped-up PAL).

I'm always a little hesitant with Aussie DVD releases. I've bought quite a few before that just turned out to be really bad VHS transfers, and probably bootlegs...even though they were sold through reputable stores.

Yeah... there has definitely never been any official release... that listing is one of those "looks good" but unofficial releases. The rights for the flick are tied up with (from what i understand) Talia Shire.

Was a big fan of this as a kid and used to love the old bmx and skate scenes back then. Also loved Sk8 TV on Nickelodeon.

Use to love watching this, wore a vhs copy of it out. Had hopes after Dirt Bike Kid got released that Rad would see blu. As an earlier poster said this is a prime candidate for Shout.
