Default 605, or 705?

hi, its me again asking for some input on these receivers. now as you can see in my sig i had already chosen the onkyo 605 from what i heard about it from this website(and avs forums) now the thing is i have the money to get the 705 easily ( heck even the 805, but i do like to save so forget about that) but ill admit it im a cheap ass everyone says the 605 is good ( and it is) so i went with the cheap one. but today im finally making the purchase and im having second thoughts about the 605, its a good receiver, but im wondering should i go with more power if i have the money? or does it really matter? to let you guys know again, it will be hooked up to a ps3, 40'' samsung, and this system http://www.definitivetech.com/loudsp...inema_800.html and ill be changing the 8" sub for a 10" one at 300 watts. so, do you guys think i should stick with the 605, or go with more power and get the 705? your input is greatly appreciated

I would step it up to the 705... More power, thx certification, and from what i have read fewer functionality issues. plus one more hdmi input.

Plus, if you get the 705S (silver) version from Amazon, it's $50 cheaper. Just ordered one myself.

It sounds like you've already made your choice. And I don't blame you. BLU is always a strong selling point.

the blue light is where it's at!

I am in the same boat - and decided to save a little more to get the 705.

More Power, +1 HDMI input, More surround options.

And I believe you can matrix 5.1 pcm to 7.1 - you can't do that with 605. A little more future-proof.

Can you? I have heard that as well, but I have been unable to substantiate the rumor. If you have any links, could you post or PM them to me? I have been trying to decide as well, and if this is true, it would make up my mind as well. TIA

When you matrix the sound does it take the front and the rear sound and mix it into the middle speakers, like a blending/transition from the front to the back?

....according to AVSForum the 705 and higher are level 6 receiver and can post process the 5.1 PCM signal.
