Look at my history over the past year or two... I was always the first one to shit talk the Xbone for being a clunky UI, no true exclusives and laughed at their attempt to be a 4K console with the S knowing it was just media upgrade and the PS4 "Neo" (at the time, later revealed to be "Pro"; big emphasis on quotations) would DESTROY it....

Flash forward, and I got all these crows at my table and not enough time in the day to eat them all.

It took them a few years and their competitor to literally make boneheaded exclusions for me to actually CONSIDER getting an Xbox One now. They truly deliver 4K experience (the lack of bitstream audio is a non factor to me, and I doubt anyone who has higher than a 7.1 sound system will get the Xbox One S as a player; they'd get the Phillips or Sony standalone) for media, support developers allowing mods in their games, and brag rightfully about how on the console side, they have the better online service for gaming.

RIP me and my assumptions. Who would have thought Sony of all makers, who have always been leading in these new formats would make the DUMBEST decision to not include a 4K UHD drive, and as expected, release a console that will as expected UPSCALE to 4K (by method of temporal filtering-- It will render at 1080p, and upscale to 4K for their "games in 4K"), and flat out deny Bethesda to allow mods on their console.

I guess the only thing holding me back is a black color for the One S, the price of the Sony standalone player... and that wide grasp at a straw not there that Sony will release a PS4 with a 4K UHD drive by end of the year.

Stop being a fanboy, you will enjoy more games, Forza Horizon 3 is going to be awesome! Scorpio will most likely debut in black, if you can wait another year.

That is an amazing deal! Almost makes me wish I had waited to buy my Samsung UHD player.

I saw this on CAG literally 10 minutes ago and jumped on it. The options for a UHD blu ray were limited (Deadpool, The Martian, X-men DoFP, and one of the Divergent movies). I'll probably take it back and exchange for something I want.
