I went to one indy show several years ago in my high school gymnasium. There was maybe 40 people. I remember I wore a La Parka mask and heckled a few guys. One guy looked like Vader. He sat in the crowd after his match and tried to blend in without his mask on. If there were more shows around here I would go.

I actually prefer indy wrestling over the big name wrestling promotions like CZW,ROH too. Its just far more fun to watch and some of the stuff that they put themselve's through for those crazy violent and or deathmatches too is insane to catch.

I went to my first ever live show the other day, after my friend let me know the social club down the road from us has its own wrestling show. I live in quite a rough area, and the beer was flowing and flowing cheaply, so the crowd really got into it and really got rowdy which was all the fun really. I was surprised too because it was surprisingly interactive. A bouncer joined in on an elimination match, the ref got involved after a guy refused his DQ, the baddie wrestlers got into the faces of people in the crowd and one fight even exploded into the crowd and then they went and took it outside, where they smashed a car to bits and threw each other through walls. It was pretty wild.
The actual wrestlers and the people who run it and stuff were all really great people too, I ended up drinking beers with them and just chatting about stuff and they let me take loads of photos and they let wear the championship belt. |

Does NXT count? Haha!
In Houston I go watch Booker T's promotion, Reality of Wrestling (ROW). They have a show every month and I have been going for the past two years or so. They are a bunch of fun to go to! Some of the wrestlers are really good and some are not but I think the best thing about Indy wrestling are the fans and ROW's fan do not disappoint! They are always loud and play to all of the gimmcks and antics that the wrestlers do. This year when I go to Wrestlemania, I plan to stop by WrestleCon which showcases Indy wrestling from around the country. Should be fun! |

![]() [Show spoiler] Just came back from another wrestling match by my local indie show. This one was a steel cage gimmick show. No one sadly climbed over the top of the cage, but this may have been because the whole set up looked incredibly flimsy. It also looked like a lot of matches weren't going as planned with lots of furious whispering trying to be disguised and some awkward bits of choreography, but there were still plenty of terrific moments dotted throughout. Someone got busted open by accident as two guys had a duel between a chair and bamboo sticks, they invented a Triple Threat Championship which is original but I have no idea how that works, introduced a few new faces – one of which is a stunning new "Vixen" who they are already pushing for the Women's Championship, although the Women's Champion is currently "injured", when in fact she's actually off to Japan to wrestle so big things might be in her future. Why they didn't just force her to drop the belt I don't know. Plus of course there was plenty crowd interaction, my mates Mum got called a "Witch" by the main heel of the production and a rather vocal couple – who may be plants because they got utterly destroyed and it got so heated at one point I thought they'd actually break out in a fight. Is it all staged to hype up the crowd? Maybe, but it works. And at the next show, Mr Anderson joins our local indie. This was announced long before his release from TNA too, so that soured it all a little, but still they must be getting noticed if he wanted to join in while still active in TNA. |

Watched my first ever PWG show just now "Free Admission (Just Kidding)". Even a decade ago, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are the best in the business at what they do. That title match between Kazarian and Super Dragon was great too. Plus it's really fun to see so many big stars today, wrestling in front of like fifty people in what looks like a school sports hall. With the show featuring not just Owens and Zayn but the likes of Daniel Bryan and Ricky Reyes too. With Kazarian having a brief run in WWE too.

Went to a Ring of Honor tv taping last night. It was the most fun I've had at a wrestling show.

Nick Dinsmore (Eugene) from WWE fame runs an outfit in Sioux Falls SD called Midwest All Pro Wrestling. They put on monthly shows that are quite good. Shelton Benjamin, Damien Sandow and Kizarny were all there Wednesday night and they have a few locals that have some talent. Adam Rose will be at the next show August 18th. They have a pretty popular FB page with some live matches streamed on it.
