United Kingdom Never Let Go (Alexandre Aja, Halle Berry, January 2025)

"A family that has been haunted by an evil spirit for years. Their safety and their surroundings come into question when one of the children questions if the evil is real."

OK, then.

Alexandre Aja caught my eye obviously but not sure how that'll work with Halle Berry as I've found her to be a poor actor (she almost destroyed Die Another Day, which was already very poor).

I'll give it a look for Aja.

Apparently it ain't that good.

Wish he'd go back & do more French language films (2 so far) as those are his best films.

I loved his writing work on P2 and Maniac. I think P2 is a classic from Franck Khalfoun.

Horns was excellent (never seen Harry Potter so that may of helped) and The Hills Have Eyes really surprised me I thought it was going to be crap and I liked it a lot.

Maybe he can't get the budgets for non-English work.

I've not seen Piranha 3D looks poor but if it had a lenticular sleeve for £3.00 I'd buy it and maybe watch it eventualy.

Doesn't look great but I'll still be having a look.

Wouldn't go out of my way to own it, but I enjoyed it in the cinema (even though the projector was conked, with the right side out of focus throughout).

The kids are great actors in this!

My main beef is how much stuff is in the trailer that straight up doesn't exist in the movie. There are some manipulative edits that combine shots from the movie to create a new context, but there are tons of bits we never see too.
