Canada Is there really no way for me to watch UV on my TV?

(I'm in Canada, so Vudu isn't available)

I bought Batman v Superman on UHD to future-proof my blu-ray collection (I don't have a UHD player yet) thinking that I could watch the theatrical release on the regular BD and then use the UV code to watch the extended cut in the meantime. I was planning on using CinemaNow on the PS3 since it'd be my first time using UV and I remembered seeing the app on the console a while back, but it turns out that CinemaNow isn't available anymore on it (go figure).

My TV isn't a smart TV, and I also have a PS4 and 4th gen Apple TV. I tried AirPlaying from the computer, but the quality is unbearable (if it doesn't refuse to play or crash).

Are there any ways I can watch UV on my home theatre without having to buy a Roku? I've been looking into it all evening and it's left me wholly disappointed...

i'm not sure what apps you have access to but I believe you can link your uv account to the following,

cinemaNow

Google Play

Flixter

Fandango now

are any of those available?
I hope you can find something

I missed the part about Cinema now

Google Play is not part of UV.
Googleplay is part of DisneyMoviesAnywhere though.

I've linked my UV account to CinemaNow and Flixter, but none of them allow me to watch it on my TV with my current hardware (arguably among the more popular streaming devices) in Canada.

Do you have an open HDMI port?

You can always get the cheaper Chromecast which is not a bad choice for limited options such as yours. It would be stereo only audio unless you have a receiver with HDMI that can handle AAC audio.

But the nice thing is you use your phone or tablet to start the stream but the Chromecast handles it when it begins playback. So you don't have to worry about how far your device is from the Chromecast.

I tried to Airplay some video content from my iPad (and Macbook) to a Samsung TV with the latest Apple TV yesterday. It failed due to HDCP restrictions. Wouldn't you run into this with Chromecast too?

No. You are not mirroring the display like you tried to do with airplay, with Chromecast the stream is handed off to the device. It is made for this purpose.
AppleTV also has this capability for airplay enabled apps also, but none of the UV apps are airplay enabled right now.

Chromecast might be the cheapest option, how's the video quality of the stream though?

Is there anyone here from Canada that's gotten this setup to work with UltraViolet, what compatible service is available?

Edit: I checked the available apps for the Chromecast and there's nothing that would allow to view UV movies

UV is garbage in Canada. I can't seem to get anything to work on my Roku 3.

I gave up long ago on UV in Canada. It has been a disaster from the beginning. The only way to do it, although I haven't, is to get a VPN and get a US IP address, then you have to register your ps3 as American or something and get VUDU that way. I went with iTunes 2 years ago and I'm not switching back. I think Xbox has the only UV apps for a console but I'm sure they're crapola just like my UV phone apps.
I find it interesting, or maddening, how Sony is an major UV backer but doesn't even support it through their own movie store. That to me shows that UV outside of Vudu is DOA and isnt sustainable business.

The only real options in Canada are iTunes and Googleplay, imo.

I did this with Roku for a while but then Vudu made some adjustments or something and it could detect that I was using Unblock-Us so I haven't been able to use it since. My library is still split half and half between iTunes and UV (mostly through disc to digital) but UV rarely gets used.

I use a Panasonic Blu-ray Player with Streaming Apps, Hard Wired to my Network. I use Vudu, but you do need to have access to a UV Streaming Provider in Canada.
