Default BDA needs to study Sun Tzu

They need to turn this into an all out war. Because I need to be able to watch Transformers in Hi Def.

1. BDA Association TV's need to stop being compatible with HD-DVD players. Limit the consumers selection to Toshiba TV's as well as their players.

2. They need to start releasing Blu-Ray movies a week or two before it's DVD counterparts. Extra incentive to move to hi def.

3. All the BDA manufacturers need to bundle the Blu-Ray players in with their TV's.

Hopefully if they write a big enough check to Warner they won't have to do any of the above.

You do realise that in the end they're in this to make money right?

Default Bad for business

I'm sure HD DVD will retaliate in a same manner if the BDA does listen to your idea. You have to think of those that are considering the switch to Blu-ray from HD DVD only to find out that they must buy a new HDTV.

A few things to remember what the BDA is or isn't doing we are not fully aware of. However do you think companies such as Philips, Panasonic, Sony and many many others would form an organisation spend many millions on it then let it be staffed by donkey's - NO WAY.

1. As for the idea of making TV's only compatible with Blu-ray - that would mean all current HD TV's would also be incompatible with new Blu-ray, yep that should let HD-DVD win easily. That makes as much sense as releasing a 51GB disc that is incompatible with most of the installed player base.

2. Over time this will happen - when they are ready to take on DVD

3. They all ready are - at least in Australia, Sony has a deal buy a Sony 1080p TV and you get a PS3.

The BDA can't dictate policy to individual companies - however seeing how many competing companies worked together to bring you Blu-ray as we know it is impressive.
