We can be only so lucky if 4.0 turns out to be both versions. It will certainly piss off those who may have ponied up for the recent 25th Anniversary set.

They only have themselves to blame.

Not me. If Fox releases a second set a few months after another set with different features, it will be a first. A repackage of individual titles with the new movie thrown in, I could see. Any added features / different cut of the fourth movie? I'm pretty sure that would be a first.

Sorry, this was a given. I don't see any added features but clearly there was going to be another boxed set. And Amazon DE has already announced the boxed set with the uncut version.

If this has both versions Die Hard 4.0 than I will definitely get this. If they don't, than I will continue waiting until they do.

I'd like to consolidate all of the Die Hard films into one collection for space reasons but it's not the only incentive I'll need to re-buy. I'd be willing to overlook it if Part 4 was the same Theatrical cut but the first 3 have to be fresh transfers.

I'm not sure what you are thinking was a "given". You think it was a given that they were going to release a new set with the uncut version of the fourth movie? There would be no reason to think that was a "given". A studio changing contents of a new box set a few months after the release of the previous set? Sorry, but where is your historical precedence to "know" that was going to happen? I'm not sure when a studio released a set with an exclusive disc, then turned around and released a similar set with different exclusive features a few months later.

If you're just talking about them throwing the 5th movie into a box with the same discs they've already released... well, I'm not sure there will be too many people who care. I'm still surprised they would bother given that they just targeted those same consumers with a release used to promote the new movie and the number of those people who will re-buy the first 4 movies a few months after just buying them just to get the 5th movie in the same packaging has to be a pretty small group. The number of Die Hard fans that are being sold on buying the entire series for the first via the inclusion of the 5th one has to be even smaller.

If Fox throws in the unrated version of Live Free or Die Hard, it would be a pretty scumbag move. If there ends up being even one new transfer, it would be even worse.

He was talking about the box set with all 5 films being a given. I dont think anyone knows if the 4th film will be unrated or not. Knowing Fox it probably wont be , the first four films will be the same with the 5th included with the extras from the stand alone DVD

I would only double-dip on these movies if ALL of the DVD special features were ported over.

I'm just going to wait until the definitive die hard collection comes out when they wrap up the series.

I will buy this to replace my 1-4 collection if Live Free or Die Hard has the unrated cut. If not I will just keep my old 1-4 collection and buy the individual release of A Good Day to Die Hard.

However, I don't know how easy it is to import from DE.

I agree...I sold my original 4-movie set so I can upgrade to this one. I didn't buy the anniversary set as I know there is a fifth movie coming out.
